2) Title :
PROTECTIVE FOOTWEAR
TESTING PROCEDURES
per CSA (Z195) and ANSI (Z41) Standards
Type : Hands-on course,
with explanation of related Physics formulas.
Duration : 4 hours.
Languages : French or
English.
Prerequisite :
- basic knowledge of the Laws of Physics (preferred);
- basic knowledge of electricity (preferred);
- knowledge of the applicable Standards.
Maximum number of participants
: 5 at a time.
Exam : N/A as mandatory
testing on samples is done during this course.
Author and Instructor :
Jean-Marc Beaudet, Eng., B. Sc. A.
Goals :
1) Allow each participant to become familiar and comfortable
with the basics of the Laws of Physics (gravity, kinetic energy,
potential energy, speed, acceleration, etc.) involved in the mechanical
performance (resistance of the protective footwear construction
to impact, at the safety box toe area) tests schedule required
to obtain and maintain the Certification
of Protective Footwear;
2) Allow each participant
to become familiar and comfortable with the basics of electricity
and high voltage (18 000 volts ac. and the CORONA phenomenon [Partial
Discharge]) involved in the dielectric strength performance (resistance
of the entire protective footwear construction to electric shocks)
tests schedule required to obtain and maintain the Certification
of Protective Footwear.
How : by using hands-on
testing, in the manufacturer's laboratory, using typical samples
(to be certified or already certified) and the manufacturer's
own testing equipment.
3) Title :
PROTECTIVE HEADWEAR
